Superfood smoothies are my go-to food. One of my superfood smoothies is chalked full of nutrients and fiber and is a quick but filling meal or snack. For someone like me, who is not keen on spending a lot of time cooking, superfood smoothies are a wonderful way to feed myself a quick dose of real (good) food. In just 5 minutes you can make one of the three easy superfood smoothies below.

How to Make Superfood Smoothie in 5 Minutes
Step One: Add your liquid. I use unsweetened organic almond milk and often add some organic canned coconut milk. Feel free to use whatever ‘milk’ you prefer, but even water will work if you are alright with the texture.
Step Two: Add your protein. I either use an unflavored vegan protein powder or I add nuts, seeds, and/or their butter for a protein source. Protein powders are fast and easy and as long as they are good quality, and they agree with my system.
Step Three: Add your banana (fiber). Fiber is a vegetable, fruit, nuts, or seeds. I always add a frozen banana to mine, then I add a bit of green (spinach, kale, or even avocado), then a splash of frozen fruit like mango. Due to the frozen-ness, it is important you blend well, but not too well that it gets heated. It doesn’t take much of these ingredients to make it complete. So go ahead and blend …..
Step Four: Add your sweet and/or add-on. Sweet: I use 4-5 drops of liquid glycerite (only a little, sugar-free), 2 TBS maple syrup, or 2 dates. Also, if I have not et, this is where I like to add a tablespoon of one of the following add-ons for pizzazz: ground flaxseed, chia seeds, hemp hearts, nut butter, ginger, cocoa powder, cinnamon, or nuts. If I want it thick I also add a few cubes of ice. Perfect, now give it a final blend!
Step Five: Pour and Rinse. Find your favorite class or flask and pour it, get a straw and enjoy ….. but first, you should rinse out your blender and lid. I love my Vitamix blender because it is super easy to clean.
